Become an ESC Volunteer in our Youth Center!

Are you looking for an unforgettable experience and are you between 18 and 30 years old? Do you want to step out of your comfort zone, learn new skills, broaden your horizons, and enrich the lives of local children? Join us as an ESC volunteer! The program is accessible to everyone, fully covering your accommodation, food, travel, insurance, and pocket money.

Who We Are

We are a certified hosting youth center officially known as Středisko volného času Vratimov, but affectionately called by locals Domeček (The Litlle House). We are a dedicated center providing non-formal and leisure-time education for children, youth, adults, and seniors. We live by our motto: "You don't have to come to us, you want to."

As the vibrant heart of the local community, we create a safe, creative, and fun environment where all generations meet, talents are nurtured, and new friendships are born. Now, we are opening our doors to motivated young people from all over Europe who want to share their energy and culture with us!

Our Location: The Heart of Europe

Vratimov is a peaceful, safe, and green town situated in the Moravian-Silesian Region. It offers the perfect balance—a cozy living environment with all necessary amenities, while the bustling center of Ostrava (the 3rd largest city in the Czech Republic) is just 15 minutes away by public transport.

Our[LM1]  region is a paradise for culture and trips:

• Nature: The beautiful Beskydy Mountain range is right above us, perfect for hiking up to the highest peak, Lysá hora.
• Industrial Heritage: Explore industrial gems like Dolní Vítkovice (DOV) with its Bolt Tower, or the Landek Park Mining Museum.
• Culture & Festivals: Ostrava is globally famous for hosting major events like Colours of Ostrava and Beats for Love.

Your Role: What Will You Do Here?

As our volunteer, you will become an integral part of our team. Your days will be full of diverse activities—from helping with after-school activities (sports, arts, technical) and planning summer camps, to getting creative with our social media (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) by taking photos and filming short videos. You will also connect generations by organizing workshops for seniors and helping with large town events. Your schedule will also include supporting morning educational project days for local schools and kindergartens. We always encourage you to bring your own ideas to life!

Who Are We Looking For?

No previous professional pedagogical experience is required—what matters most to us is your positive attitude and willingness to learn! You are the perfect match if you are communicative, social, and passionate about working with kids and teens. We love volunteers who are proactive, reliable, flexible, and ready to support our team during daily activities or big events. Please note that since you will work closely with children, providing a clean criminal record certificate from your home country is a legal requirement.
